ECOPAL: THE BEGINNINGS

François Girault founded ECOPAL in the Mayenne countryside in 1980. The company’s aim was to become the go-to for Europe’s largest prime contractors and their packaging needs. The business started operations manufacturing cardboard packaging, but with demand flourishing, the production site soon needed expanding.

CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT

François Girault, ECOPAL’s founder, retired in 2011. The company was then taken over by a group of investors and a new CEO – Rodolphe Mallet. With his international experience, Mallet enlisted the help of a team of dedicated experts to ensure ECOPAL remained competitive and open to new markets. With this in mind, ECOPAL started operations on a larger site in Laval to increase its storage capacity. This enabled investments in a coating line and the start of production of containers.
